Structural Fitting for Anansi

I was so excited to see the structural piece for this costume, Elise and Rosie have set up their workshop at Rosie's house so i havent been able to see how things are developing, I put a lot of trust in the girls and felt i could as i had seen them do some very technical thinking and they have kept me up to date daily.

The leg shape is exactly what i pictured, and the foam they have used is very light weight and easy to manipulate, Elise told me it only takes 30 mins to make each leg section which is very important so the production of the other 5 legs is not delaying the costume. The legs do all need to be attached to each other though to keep them from swinging into each other. I also like the use of willow for the collar, the un-uniform shape is very organic and web like, it has that creepy feel to it that a spider needs and also brings back the use of natural materials to show the kumpo inspiration in the costume.

The next thing i need to see from this costume is the 5 other legs to make sure that they do all move in the same way and direction that we need. At this moment in time we are assuming they will however if problems do arise there wont be to much time to correct the problem, Elise and Rosie are very aware of this concern.
